HARPER

What does Harper Pride do?
Harper Pride provides support to members, sponsors educational programming for members and the community, participates in activism opportunities, and encourages social interaction.

Who can join Harper Pride?
Harper Pride is open to all Harper students, regardless of sexual orientation or gender identity.

What is confidentiality and why is it so important?
Basically, confidentiality means that what is said in meetings stays in meetings.  This includes members’ identities and their orientations, as well as anything a member might disclose in the group.  It also includes contact information, such as email addresses, phone numbers, names, and addresses.  It is important because of the possible risk of negative consequences should one disclose one’s orientation.  Confidentiality is so important that a member will be dismissed from the group and not allowed to return if it is violated.

How is Harper Pride Organized?
Harper Pride has an Executive Board which consists of a President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer.  There are also two faculty advisors.  Elections for the Executive Board are ideally held in the spring.

How can I get the most out of the group?
Be involved!  Volunteer for tasks, contribute ideas, offer to help, attend meetings.  Remember, this is your group.  What you get out of it is directly related to how much you put in.

Upcoming Events:
